About
The story behind CairnSpace

Alan Dale Jones
Founder
I'm a retired software engineer dealing with my own long-running weight struggle. I'm not yet on a GLP-1 medication — that's a decision I'm working toward in the next few months — but as I started doing the homework, one thing became clear: obesity is one of the most consequential health issues of our time, and millions of people are walking that road every day with tools that don't really serve them.
The apps I looked at chase you with pharmaceutical ads, treat weight as the only number worth knowing, sell your data quietly in the background, or pretend to be clinics they aren't. I wanted something honest about what it is: a quiet, private place to track meals, hydration, side effects, and the small daily wins that actually compound over time.
So I built CairnSpace — partly for the millions of people already on this journey, and partly for myself, for when I start mine. It's an independent solo project. No outside investors, no pharma sponsorship, no data partnerships behind the curtain. Just one person trying to build a tool that's actually on the user's side.
What CairnSpace is — and isn't
Is
- A habit and side-effect tracker
- A private journal you fully own
- A peer-matching community by dose tier
- A meal-planning helper for low-appetite days
Isn't
- A clinic or telehealth provider
- A source of dosage or titration advice
- A diagnostic tool
- A pharmacy or prescription service
CairnSpace does not employ clinicians, pharmacists, or medical reviewers. Always consult your prescribing healthcare provider before changing your medication, dose, or titration schedule.

Another site I built
If you or a family member is figuring out GLP-1 coverage on Medicare, I also run GLP1 Almanac — an independent, plain-English guide to the new $50 Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program, eligibility tiers, prior authorization, and what to ask your doctor. Free, no sign-up. Built with the same independence and no-pharma-sponsorship principles as CairnSpace.
